Accessing the Australian Schizophrenia Research Bank

Access Timeline

The Australian Schizophrenia Research Bank will consider applications from Australian and international researchers and commercial entities.

Access Request and Response Process

The following describes the process associated with requesting volunteers, data or samples from the Australian Schizophrenia Research Bank:

i. The holder of the appropriate Institutional Ethics approval for the project will be the Chief or Principal Investigator for the request.

ii. Completed and signed Bank Access Application Forms should be forwarded to the ASRB.

iii. The researcher will receive an acknowledgement of the receipt of the request and an estimated time for its consideration by the Access Committee. This usually takes place within four weeks of the request submission but some requests may take somewhat longer.

iv. The ASRB will prepare a written report for the Access Committee, specifying the availability of volunteers, samples and/or data and the resources needed to meet the request. Copies of the request, research plan, ethics approvals and reports are provided to the Access Committee for consideration.

v. The researcher is informed of the Access Committee's recommendation, availability and timeframe for the request to be completed.
